Locum CTICU Physician Assistant - Earn up to to 125/hr!

Locum Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU) Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)

Position Type: Locum Tenens

Shift Schedule: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts

Work Schedule Options:

1. Monday to Friday with weekends off, OR

2. 7 days on, 7 days off

Contract: 3-6 months

Responsibilities:

• Provide autonomous coverage in the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU).
• Manage ICU care exclusively for post-cardiac surgery patients and shock patients.
• Work autonomously, especially during night shifts, with no attending physicians in-house for direct consultation.
• Demonstrate self-sufficiency in critical care management, with a focus on line experience including arterial lines, Swan-Ganz catheters, and other relevant procedures.
• Handle a significant portion of mechanical support cases including Impellas and ECMO.
• Be responsible for 10-15 patients per night within the 21-bed CTICU.

Additional Information:

• This position offers the opportunity to work in a specialized CT surgery ICU environment, providing high-acuity care to critically ill patients.
• The locum will join a team of two other PAs, with overlapping coverage to ensure comprehensive care.
• While patients on the step-down floor may require consultation, the primary responsibility lies within the CTICU.
• This role requires adaptability and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care in a challenging and dynamic setting.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Pay rate: $105-$125/hour.

Requirements:

• Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Physician Assistant (PA).
• Current experience in a cardiothoracic ICU setting managing high volumes & high acuity patients.
• Proficiency in managing post-cardiac surgery patients, including those on mechanical support.
• Ability to work autonomously and make independent clinical decisions.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with the healthcare team.
• Flexibility to work night shifts and handle a demanding workload.
• Active New Jersey state license required.
